SLS Dubai – Your Luxury Hotel Above The Clouds
Finding a luxurious hotel to spoil yourself in Dubai is definitely not difficult at all. You can find countless of them in the megacity – you just have to decide on one.
While browsing the web and checking various of different hotel booking platforms, one particular hotel has always caught our eye: The SLS Dubai. Or, let’s say, it was the photos that showed the two infinity pools with the breathtaking skyline view.
After comparing its price, location, rooms, and other amenities to similar hotels we favored, we decided on this one. So we went ahead and booked four nights at the SLS Dubai.
And what can I tell you? It was definitely a perfect decision!
If you’re also looking for an extravagant, super luxurious hotel in Dubai to really splurge yourself, then SLS Dubai is the right choice.
However, if you are still not sure, keep on reading but be aware, you will most likely want to book a stay right away afterward. 😉

Location & How to Reach The SLS Dubai
Nestled right in the heart of Dubai’s thriving Downtown district, the SLS Dubai is just a 5-minute car ride from Dubai’s most iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain, or Dubai Mall.
To reach SLS Dubai, you have several convenient options. If you are arriving by plane, Dubai International Airport is approximately a 20-minute drive away.
The hotel also provides airport transfers, ensuring a smooth transition from the airport.
If you are venturing from other parts of the city, taxis and ride-hailing services are readily available, making it easy to reach Dubai. There are also several public bus connections from major cities such as Abu Dhabi.
Since taxis in the UAE are really cheap, we took one from the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, our hotel in Abu Dhabi, to the SLS Dubai. I think the total costs were approximately AED 250 (around €60) for a 1.5-hour ride.
Dive Into a World of Luxury & Splendor
Once you arrive at the hotel, you’ll be greeted by a concierge who will happily assist you to the high-speed elevator that takes you up to the reception.
While many hotels usually have the reception desk right on the first floor near the entrance, this one is actually located on the 71 floor.
As soon as you exit the lift, prepare to be mesmerized by a lobby where glowing light streams through floor-to-ceiling windows, reflecting off pristine marble floors, and illuminating brass and gold fixtures.
Moreover, the incredible panoramic views of Dubai’s vibrant Downtown almost give you the feeling of checking into the clouds!
The front office staff is super friendly and helpful and guarantees a smooth check-in. To get to your room you have to take an elevator again, but surprise, surprise: it’s not going up as you might expect it, but down a few floors!
Welcome to Your Temporary Home in Dubai!
At SLS Dubai, you find 254 hotel rooms and 321 hotel apartments with spacious terraces and balconies in different categories.
Depending on which side of the building your accommodation is located, you can either enjoy the various blue shades of Dubai Creek or overlook the twinkling lights of the Downtown district.
Actually, my boyfriend and I booked a signature king room with a balcony, however, since it was my birthday, we got a free upgrade to a two-story apartment of the category ‘Cloud Living One Bedroom King Duplex’.
On the first floor was the main living area featuring a fully-equipped, open-plan kitchen, a dining table, a sofa and armchairs, an HD TV, and a small balcony. Plus, there was a small room with a toilet and a washing machine.
Upstairs, we had our bedroom and the main bathroom, plus another balcony. A cozy, big double bed, an office desk, and another HD TV were the main equipment of the bedroom.
The bathroom was equipped with a walk-in rainfall shower, two large washbasins with a giant mirror, a second toilet, and Ciel bath amenities.
The apartment had a total size of 105 square meters and was therefore even larger than our apartment at home.
Not only did we get a free upgrade to this extremely spacious apartment, but I even received a welcome gift + a super tasty chocolate birthday cake!
These were such great surprises that made the stay even more special!
Take a Swim Above Dubai’s Skyline
Let’s come to my favorite part of SLS Dubai: The epic rooftop infinity pools. Ever since my boyfriend and I saw them in photos, we couldn’t wait to finally take a dip in them.
And it was better than expected!
Perched on the 75th floor, SLS Dubai boasts not just one, but two spectacular infinity rooftop pools that offer mesmerizing views of Dubai’s downtown skyline.
The pool area is part of Privilege Dubai, a rooftop venue with a stylish bar where you can enjoy various fancy drinks or snacks while soaking in the ambiance.
Moreover, you find comfortable loungers that are simply perfect for relaxation, allowing you to unwind and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
As the sun sets, the pool area transforms into a vibrant venue, hosting various events featuring renowned DJs and live music.
Additionally, the hotel organizes special themed nights, including popular “ladies’ nights,” where you can enjoy exclusive offers and promotions.
Even if you’re not looking for a lively night out, make sure to stay here until the evening. Watching the sun disappear behind the world’s highest building is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Wow, that is what you call luxury! I love the rooftop pool, and the view of the Dubai skyline looks fantastic. I’ve never been up this high, and swimming on the 75th floor must be something. I’m definitely parking this post for when I visit Dubai.
