Visit Valldemossa, Mallorca – A Stunning Mountain Village

The first thing I wanted to do when I went to Mallorca was to check out all the fantastic beaches (also called “Calas”) and swim in the crystal clear, turquoise water. Hardly did I know that this Spanish island had way more to offer!

One of my all-time favorite places on the island was the small mountain village of Valldemossa.

Situated right in the midst of the Tramuntana Mountains, Valldemossa attracts people with its cobble-stoned streets, cute shops, and stunning scenery. It’s definitely a place everyone should have on their Mallorca bucket list!

Where to Find Valldemossa, Mallorca & How to Get There

The lovely mountain village is easily reachable since it’s located only 20 kilometers from Palma, the capital city of Mallorca.

That’s also the place where I stayed during my time on the island. To go to Valldemossa, you can take the bus line 210 which costs between €2 and €4.

The entire ride doesn’t take longer than half an hour and you can watch the scenic landscape passing by.

Of course, you can either take a car or a taxi as well. Both options will be faster, however, taking a taxi will be way more expensive.

How To Spend a Day in Valldemossa, Mallorca

After I finally arrived at my destination, the first question I asked myself was: What should I do in Valldemossa? Despite the fact, I hadn’t had any expectations before I went there, it became one of my favorite places in Mallorca.

What I enjoyed most about my trip to Valldemossa was the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the little town.

While I was walking along the narrow streets, I almost felt transported back to the Middle Ages because all the buildings reminded me of old history movies. Honestly, it wouldn’t have surprised me if I’d seen knights fighting with swords!

The quaint little town is also a perfect place to get yourself some really nice Majorcan clothes. Valldemossa is full of different kinds of small boutiques with the most beautiful and exquisite Spanish fashion pieces.

Moreover, most of the stuff is pretty affordable too so you don’t need to spend a fortune buying some new dresses!

Even if you’re not really into shopping for clothes, there are so many other kinds of small shops. For example, decoration shops, selling handmade Spanish statues, carpets, and more!

Trust me, it was really hard for me not to hop in every single one I saw on my way through the village because I’m a sucker for all different kinds of little boutiques.

Thus Valldemossa is definitely a heaven on Earth for that matter. Besides souvenir shops and boutiques, you can also find tons of great cafés and restaurants offering traditional Spanish cuisine there.

Thanks to its very convenient location right in the midst of the Tramuntana Mountains, Valldemossa is the perfect starting point for hiking or biking tours. In this way, you’ll see the beauty of Mallorca’s landscape in its full splendor!
