Poseidon Villas – The Best Place to Stay in Skiathos Town

What’s the number one priority for you when it comes to finding perfect accommodation?

Is it the central location? The good price-performance ratio? Or do you prefer a bit of luxury by having a nice pool, a bar and some other additional facilities?

Let me tell you one thing: If you ever travel to Skiathos and decide to stay in its capital city, Poseidon Villas is THE place to be since it offers all of it!

An Unforgettable Stay at Poseidon Villas

When it comes to planning a trip, one of the most difficult things for me is to decide what accommodation to choose.

Maybe the following scenario sounds familiar: You open your favorite hotel booking website, enter the destination, the specific date and apply all relevant filters.

Although you’ve already narrowed down the list of possible options, there are still way too many suitable hotels that would meet all your requirements.

What I always find helpful in such a situation is to check all the pictures carefully and read the reviews, both the good and the bad.

In this way, my sister and I found Poseidon Villas to be the most outstanding of all other places in Skiathos Town.

And it didn’t disappoint at all!

Location

The 3-star hotel is situated on a hill offering a panoramic view of Skiathos Town and the Aegean Sea.

Nevertheless, it’s just a 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk away from the center and the port of Skiathos.

If you arrive by plane, the best way to reach Poseidon Villas is by taxi. However, if you arrive by ferry, you can easily walk the way to the hotel.

Keep in mind that the path is very steep so avoid climbing up the hill in the midday heat, especially if you’re dragging a heavy suitcase with you. It’s a very sweaty and tedious procedure you don’t want to go through voluntarily.

Trust me, I speak from (unpleasant) experience.

In our situation, it wouldn’t have been a bad idea to just take a cab for the 5-minute ride. I hope you’re wiser and do better than us. 😉

Rooms & Apartments

At Poseidon Villas, you can choose between five different room & apartment categories. No matter which one you pick, the friendly atmosphere will make you feel at home right away!

We stayed in a spacious Superior Studio with a tiny but fully equipped kitchen, a cozy double bed, a small sofa and a bathroom with a shower and various amenities.

The best thing about our room though was the fact it came with a big balcony from where we enjoyed stunning views of the bay and Skiathos Town.

As soon as we got the key from the reception and entered the room, I felt immediately at home. Everything was lovingly decorated with shells and candles in front of the mirror and colorful pillows on the sofa.

What I enjoyed most every morning was getting up, opening the balcony door and enjoying the fresh morning air and the incredible view.

This became my ritual and I could have spent hours merely sitting there and staring at the sea.

Solely my growling stomach craving for food interrupted it every single time …

Breakfast

Luckily, the breakfast buffet at Poseidon Villas offered enough to satisfy my hunger – even as a vegan!

I’m not the typical morning coffee person (weird I know) so I was happy to see orange juice and different types of tea to choose as alternatives. Regarding the food, there was toast and various sorts of bread, spreads and jam.

Of course, something healthy had to be and there were enough fruits and vegetables.

Non-vegans who need something hearty in the morning could choose from sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs.

And even those with sweet tongues (including me) got their money’s worth: Cookies, cakes and Greek Halva – a traditional dessert made from tahini, sugar syrup, sugar and vegetable oil.

I’d never tried it before but absolutely loved it and ate a few pieces of it every morning!

Pool & Other Facilities

Besides the perfect location, wonderful rooms and rich breakfast, Poseidon Villa also deserves plus points for something else.

Something that immediately caught our eye when we were looking for the perfect hotel in Skiathos Town was the pool at Poseidon Villas. It’s located on a huge terrace and offers a fantastic view of the entire town.

A lovely café & snack bar with chilled music adds to the cool ambiance.

There are enough sunbeds and parasols to relax and bath towels to borrow. Moreover, you also have the possibility to eat dinner here in the evening.

Don’t you want to jump right into the cool water just by looking at these pictures?
Well, I know that I definitely want to!

Service & Review

So if you’re still not convinced that this is the best place to stay in Skiathos Town, keep reading.

All the positive parts mentioned above are well and good, however, let’s not forget that the hotel staff contributes to a pleasant stay as well.

In this case, the friendliness and courtesy each and every person showed truly was the icing on the cake.

Right at the check-in, we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who invited us to a welcome drink at the pool bar. Of course, we couldn’t turn it down and the barkeeper handed each of us a glass of ouzo mixed with something else.

Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of the anise-flavored liquor but this time I couldn’t think of anything more suitable as a drink.

Throughout our entire stay, we felt taken care of and there was always someone ready to help us with any issue. Whether it was the taxi to the airport or some extra bottles of water, they always went above and beyond to meet our needs.

All the reasons in this post combined are the answer to why I think Poseidon Villas is the perfect place to stay in Skiathos Town!
