Vegan in Brno: 6 Great Restaurants & Cafés
Incredibly tasty, affordable, and full of variety. That’s how I’d describe the vegan food scene in Brno.
I’ve been to the city twice now, and every single time I’m amazed by how many great plant-based spots there are.
Both times, I tried something different while also going back to a few places I already knew and loved. From hearty vegan burgers and delicious ramen to pastries and specialty coffee, there’s always something new to discover.
The following six places are the ones I’ve been to personally, really enjoyed, and would happily recommend if you’re looking for good vegan food in Brno.

1. Fryends
📍 Location: Česká 31
💸 Budget: CZK 200–300
Fryends is one of the first vegan places I tried in Brno, and honestly, it set the bar pretty high. I liked it so much that I went back again on my second trip to the city.
It’s a 100% plant-based restaurant with comfort food like burgers, bagels, wraps, burritos, and more – everything made with fresh ingredients and house-made components like their seitan and bread.
Instead of a physical menu, you scan a QR code to access their online menu. It’s pretty cool because you can see ratings for each dish from guests who have already tried them, which makes choosing a lot easier, especially if it’s your first time there.
On our first visit, I went for what was rated the best item on their online menu – the Bastard Burger. This burger comes with a homemade seitan patty topped with rice paper “bacon,” a slice of plant-based cheese, pickled cucumber, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and mayo.

It was incredibly delicious and super filling, and with fries on the side, it was so much that I couldn’t even finish it.
The second time, I decided to try the Hawaii Wrap. It’s filled with grilled pineapple, crispy robi strips, iceberg lettuce, cucumber, plant-based cheese, and garlic-mango mayo. Super tasty as well!
I can really recommend this place. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner, or if you’re just craving a good coffee and something sweet on the go. Plus, the prices are more than fair.
2. Vegalité
📍 Location: Slovákova 359 /10
💸 Budget: CZK 200–300
Vegalité is a great option if you’re looking for proper vegan comfort food in Brno, including plant-based versions of classic Czech dishes.
The menu is quite varied, with everything from Asian-inspired dishes to more traditional meals you don’t often find in vegan form.
It’s tucked down a staircase into a basement/cellar‑style space, so the interior feels a bit edgy and more like a bar, which fits perfectly with their focus on craft beer.
But don’t let that fool you — the plant-based food is absolutely delicious!
I went for the Kung-Pao, which comes with vegan meat strips, vegetables, peanuts, and a slightly spicy sauce. It was simple, filling, and really tasty.

My partner went for the vegan steak in traditional Czech creamy sauce, which was delicious as well and tasted just like a classic Czech dish, only fully plant-based.
The portions are generous, the prices are good – I paid around CZK 480 (€20) for both our dishes and drinks – and the whole atmosphere just makes Vegalité a really cool spot to grab a meal.
3. Vegan AF Ramen
📍 Location: Marešova 305/14
💸 Budget: CZK 200–300
Vegan AF Ramen is the perfect place for anyone craving plant-based Asian food, especially ramen and small shareable dishes.
The menu is 100% plant-based and full of creative options, from hearty ramen bowls to flavorful bao buns and other tasty sides.
I went for the Vegan AF Ramen, which came with a light broth with shoyu tare, sesame oil, a vegan egg yolk, shimeji mushrooms, crispy lotus root, seaweed salad, wakame, edamame, and nori. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying.

My partner ordered the BBQ Baby Bao, a steamed bao bun with soy strips in BBQ sauce, fresh veggie salad, spring onions, and sesame seeds. We also shared the Ribs, which were fried soy meat in teriyaki sauce.
Unfortunately, we were too full to try one of the desserts – think mochi and bao filled with fried apples and cinnamon sugar – but I hope next time we’ll have some space left in our stomachs, because they all sounded heavenly!
4. Fabrik Food Factory
📍 Location: nám. 28. října 1900
💸 Budget: CZK 200–300
We actually stumbled upon Fabrik Food Factory by coincidence while walking past on our way to Villa Löw-Beer, and decided to come back here for lunch. It’s a small, casual spot that’s not entirely vegan or vegetarian, but it has lots of plant-based options.
I almost couldn’t decide between a vegan pizza or a vegan jacket potato, but in the end, I went for the jacket potato because it’s not something I eat that often.
I got the one filled with mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce, topped with spring onions and tomatoes, and it was incredibly delicious and very filling.

Other vegan dishes on the menu included a burger, curries, avocado toast, grilled tempeh salad, and much more — so there’s really something for every taste.
The space itself is very small, with just a few spots to sit. If you’re lucky, you’ll grab a seat right away; otherwise, you might have to wait a bit or take your food to go.
Otherwise, it’s a cozy spot for a quick meal, and the prices are around CZK 230–280 (€10–12) for a really satisfying dish.
5. SKØG
📍 Location: 5, Dominikánské nám. 187
💸 Budget: CZK 100–300
SKØG is one of the best brunch spots in Brno and a place I’d happily visit again and again.
The menu isn’t fully vegan, but there are a few plant-based options that make it worth a stop. From hearty sandwiches to sweet pancakes, they have a small but nice mix of choices depending on what you’re in the mood for.
I ordered the pancakes with roasted fruit, pumpkin “mascarpone”, chai spices, and pumpkin granola because I always need something sweet in the morning. They were fluffy, incredibly tasty, and came in such a big portion.

While we only came here once for brunch, I grabbed a coffee-to-go a couple more times because it was close to our hotel and the coffee was really good.
It’s very spacious but fills up quickly, especially on weekends, so make sure to come early!
6. Blue Demon Bistro
📍 Location: Údolní 223/7
💸 Budget: CZK 200–300
Last but not least, Blue Demon Bistro is a Mexican restaurant in Brno that’s definitely worth checking out. They serve burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and more, with plenty of vegan options alongside meaty and vegetarian dishes.
I went for the vegan burrito, and it was tasty, filling, and all I needed for lunch. The portions are generous, and the flavors are good.
Prices are very reasonable, making it perfect for a quick lunch stop while exploring the city.
